Technology from Vietnam solves the negative side of the cosmetic industry by replacing dimethicone/silicone with nano olive oil.
Dimethicone is a common ingredient in all cosmetic formulas. Due to its small size, it easily enters the food chain, causing loss of biodiversity, entering the human body causing toxicity and increasing the risk of cancer.
According to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), dimethicone, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane are classified as very persistent in the environment and highly bioaccumulative. In 2015, the UK submitted documents to ECHA to demonstrate the environmental risks of silicone use when discharged into wastewater.
